Soumit Dutt (1971)

Though I was way junior to him I got to know him well and he was one of the most liveliest and intellectually stimulating beings I have known. We had many good times together. He was also a fantastic stage personality in the English theatre especially for Goethe Institut. Rest In Peace

Nigel Callaghan (1967)

I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to Mihir's family.

He was my Classmate, Colleague, Friend and a truly proud HOXAN.

I will always remember him with that cheeky grin, even when he was in trouble. He learnt how to project his voice above the din of others, and that got him a licence into elocution contests. His talent did our school proud by winning many a competition and debate. One of his pet hates was the "Heats" leading up to Finals on Sports Day. I will never forget how he thought he had mastered the "Western Roll" in High Jump in the year before graduation. He took his long run-up to the high bar (on the Oval), leaped high, rolled over the bar, cleared it, but forgot to tuck his leading hand into his side. Instead he used his leading hand to break his fall, and ended up with a multiple fracture of the forearm. We heard this almighty scream from the sandpit, and everybody froze in fear. After having his hand reset, he returned with that same smiling face, and cheeky grin, arm in plaster and in a sling. Of course (and in keeping with tradition), we all had to sign his plaster cast with witty comments     (some too rude to mention).

Although we didn't keep in touch after graduation, there is always that strong bond with classmates, school and SXH, which never dies. I feel priviledged and honoured to have known him, and schooled with him.

Always remembered, never forgotten. RIP
